David Hrankovic began consulting in the cultural sphere in 2016, applying his background in strategic thinking and complex project management to the needs of artists and cultural foundations. Identifying a fragmented museum and exhibition services landscape, which often lacked broader strategy and artistic sensitivity, he formed D.H.office to offer comprehensive services to the arts sector. The firm has grown deliberately over several years, nurturing relationships and organically expanding services in parallel with clients’ requests and opportunities identified in the market.

Based in Switzerland and Venice, our network of clients and suppliers is simultaneously local and global. In 2019, we became the exclusive operating partner of Ocean Space, managing the production and operations of all programming at TBA21–Academy’s exhibition space in Venice. By investing in our local contexts, we are committed to strengthening craft traditions and artisan knowledge, while protecting fragile ecosystems and promoting a cultural landscape beyond the superficiality of mass tourism. While we specialise in producing projects in Venice—where we also have our own project space—we also work in the United Kingdom and the United States, and have created installations in remote locations in the Philippines and Chile, a testament to our international perspective and capabilities.

D.H.office’s team includes over ten professionals with decades of experience working for leading cultural institutions at the senior level. Drawing on a broad range of skills from across the arts sector—project managers, educators, curators, communications specialists and back office administrators—we are poised to efficiently produce comprehensive solutions for our clients. Like our projects and clients, some of us are local Venetians, while others come from across Europe and beyond. We strive to be professional yet accessible, balancing experience with dynamism.

Prior to founding D.H.office, David led the Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21–Academy) as CEO. Before entering the arts sector, he first created a healthcare services company in Berlin, having previously worked in private equity and as a hedge fund portfolio manager in London. David holds a MA in Law from the University of Oxford and a M.Sc. In Economics and Social Sciences from Sciences-Po. He speaks six languages—Czech, English, French, German, Italian, and Slovak—and as the son of a classical dancer and a violinist, he cares deeply about the arts and in enriching the cultural offerings in his community and beyond.
